Called a MonkeyBoy initially because of my ability to throw my (then) small frame around the parallel bars, rings and the Monkey Bars (also known as brachiation ladders) it became a nickname for all time when I entered the world of IT, often muttering to myself “oh, yeah, that’s not going to work, MonkeyBoy” while recompiling a kernel with the wrong options, screwing a motherboard to the backplane without risers and other “learning opportunities.”
Many years later, thousands of attendees, almost 500 classes and more presentations than I can literally count, MonkeyBoy is firmly ensconced in my delivery as a way to make fun of myself and invite other’s to identify with it.
If you still can’t figure it out, get my book, and look in the Glossary under Monkeyboy.
